Past simple: come funziona

Il past simple descrive azioni e stati conclusi in un momento preciso del passato: I visited my grandparents last weekend. I verbi regolari prendono -ed (work, worked), molti verbi comuni sono irregolari (go, went; see, saw). Domande e negazioni si formano con did + forma base: Did you call? I didn't call.
