Dolaylı anlatım (reported speech): nasıl kullanılır
Dolaylı anlatım, birinin söylediğini kelimesi kelimesine alıntılamadan aktarır. Geçmiş zamanda bir aktarma fiilinden sonra zaman genellikle bir adım geriye kayar: "I'm tired" cümlesi She said she was tired olur. Zamirler, zaman ve yer ifadeleri de değişir; dolaylı sorular düz cümle sırasıyla kurulur: He asked where I lived.
