과거시제: 사용법

과거시제는 과거의 특정한 때에 끝난 행동과 상태를 나타냅니다: I visited my grandparents last weekend. 규칙 동사는 -ed를 붙이고(work, worked), 자주 쓰는 동사 중 상당수는 불규칙합니다(go, went; see, saw). 의문문과 부정문은 did + 동사원형을 씁니다: Did you call? I didn't call.
