There is y there are: cómo funciona
There is se usa con sustantivos en singular o incontables y there are con sustantivos en plural para decir que algo existe o está en un lugar: There's a park near my house. There are two banks on this street. En las preguntas, is o are va delante (Is there a lift?), y en las negaciones se usa any: There aren't any chairs.
