Karşılaştırma sıfatları iki şeyi kıyaslar, üstünlük sıfatları bir grubun içinden birini öne çıkarır. Kısa sıfatlar -er ve -est alır (cheap, cheaper, the cheapest), uzun sıfatlar more ve most ile kullanılır (more expensive, the most expensive). Bazıları düzensizdir: good, better, the best; bad, worse, the worst. Karşılaştırmadan sonra than gelir.

  3. Yanlış: My car is gooder than yours.

    Doğru: My car is better than yours.

    Good düzensizdir: better, the best.

  4. Yanlış: He is taller that his brother.

    Doğru: He is taller than his brother.

    That değil, than kullanın.
