비교급과 최상급: 사용법

비교급은 두 대상을 비교하고, 최상급은 무리 가운데 하나를 고릅니다. 짧은 형용사는 -er과 -est를 붙이고(cheap, cheaper, the cheapest), 긴 형용사는 more와 most를 씁니다(more expensive, the most expensive). good, better, the best와 bad, worse, the worst처럼 불규칙한 것도 있습니다. 비교급 뒤에는 than을 씁니다.

자주 하는 실수

  1. 틀린 예: She is more taller than me.

    바른 예: She is taller than me.

    -er 형태에 more를 붙이지 않습니다.

  2. 틀린 예: This is the most cheap hotel.

    바른 예: This is the cheapest hotel.

    1음절 형용사는 -est를 붙입니다.

    good은 불규칙: better, the best.
