Partizipialsätze verkürzen Sätze, indem sie statt eines vollständigen Nebensatzes eine -ing-Form oder ein Partizip Perfekt verwenden. Die -ing-Form zeigt eine aktive, oft gleichzeitige Handlung (Walking home, I met Tom), das Partizip Perfekt eine passive Bedeutung (Built in 1900, the house needs repairs), having + Partizip eine vorzeitige Handlung (Having finished, she left).
